Originally by: Oveur This is a debate which has no purpose nor conclusion. No EVE player is 100% PVE or PVP. An agent runner selling his loot on the market is PVP. An alliance combat pilot has at some time shot an NPC, whether it was to get good loot or simply protecting a mining run.
You see, EVE is all intertwined. There is no isolation, just different levels of interaction between professions. At CCP we have people working in the different professions, always trying to improve their certain aspect of EVE.
Most important of all, you can't live without the other professions. Someone has to build that Apoc you just lost, whether it was an NPC of Player who shot it down.
I'm not saying kill all carebears (although that is an interesting thought). I am just saying that mission runners have it fairly easy at the moment.
The prospect of encouraging people into low-sec, and moving lag away from regional hubs; seems to make people threaten to leave the game. Isn't it scary to you guys, that some group can be so vehemently against an idea that could actually improve things for them? (in terms of reduced lag, and higher rewards).
As for agent runners selling loot, at the moment they are just making more ISK on salvage and loot. I've not run missions in a while, but I hear that you guys dropped non-ISK rewards; I'd have thought that they improved trade?
I've got no problem with industrialists, but then these are people who either 'PvP' risking their mining ship, or 'PvP' with buying and selling goods on the market. A mission runner selling his loot on the market with little regard as to how much money it makes, is not 'PvP'.
You are right on one thing though, PvP'ers must engage with NPC once in a while. However, mission runners can go through the game without engaging in PvP at all.
As a casual player I would love to know how the hell forcing me to lowsec (which should be name no sec because there is absolutely no security) improves things for me. All it means is I'm stuck flying even cheaper ships as I can barely afford to replace my ferox if I lose it. Not all mission runners have the SP, ISk or time to farm level 4 missions for the mythical huge ISK (and it is a myth). This isn't about lag, or market hubs, it's about pirate players who want easy mission runner ganks.
